Meet the Directors

Mrs. Elizabeth Palmer
DIRECTOR
Christian, singer, educator and homeschool mom of 4. She is married to her best friend of 20 years. She enjoys helping her students reach their highest musical potential!
Mrs. Palmer has loved the blessing of music her entire life. She loved to sing as a very young child with her parents and continued to develop her passion for music with her church family, singing a capella 4 part music. She performed and recorded with a singing group called “Revelation” as a child, and this inspired her to pursue music in high school. She was honored to serve as choir president and band drum major for two consecutive years. She competed in many competitions and made the TMEA All-State Choir in her junior and senior years. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Chase, and they moved to East Texas to work in ministry with a small congregation in Gallatin, TX.
She went on to pursue vocal music in college at Sam Houston State University and finished her teaching degree at Stephen F. Austin University in 2009. Elizabeth taught as a public-school teacher for 10 years before moving to the Rio Grande Valley and now enjoys directing & teaching music for the In Hymn Choir, volunteering, serving in the church & raising her 4 children (ages 17, 16, 12 & 8). Her husband took on the role as the Executive Director of Sunny Glen Children’s Home in San Benito, Texas and serves as an elder at the North 7th St Church of Christ. Elizabeth currently sings & performs with a Christian singing group called “Arrowsong” and has auditioned & recorded albums with Acappella’s Praise & Harmony singers in 2023 & 2024. In addition to her 6th year directing In Hymn Choir, she also offers in home voice lessons to students, training many to compete in vocal competitions. Some of her favorite ways to spend her time are singing, traveling all over the country doing evangelistic work with her family, cooking, crafting and home design. She looks forward to working closely with her students to bring out their fullest vocal potential and encourage them to bless their community through song.
“I am so thankful to my Lord and Savior for every blessing that has led me to this point. I am so glad the Rio Grande Valley is now my home and look forward to impacting the lives of children with music at every opportunity.”

Mrs. Lacey Lowry
BUSINESS DIRECTOR
Christian, Wife, Educator, and Mom of 3
Lacey Lowry is a Christian, a wife, a mother, and an educator at heart. She earned a teaching degree from The University of Houston at Clear Lake, and taught kindergarten before being blessed with the opportunity to be home with her kids, ages 17, 13, and 8. Lacey has always loved teaching, but now realizes that her greatest joy is in learning… learning more about God, His relationship with us, and His creation. She finds delight in helping others learn the joy of the Lord. Lacey and her husband, Wayne, have been married for 21 years and work together in ministry for the Church of Christ.
Music has always been a part of Lacey’s life. She participated in choir throughout her entire school career, and Lacey believes that music is an essential part of worship. Lacey enjoys integrating music and song into learning because music is a powerful tool that positively affects the learner’s mood, concentration, and memory.
