Meet the Directors
Mrs. Elizabeth Palmer
DIRECTOR
Mrs. Palmer has loved music her entire life. As a young child she sang with her parents and developed her passion for music with her church family, singing a capella 4-part music. She performed and recorded with a singing group called “Revelation” as a child, and this inspired her to pursue music in high school. She was honored to serve as choir president and band drum major for two consecutive years. She competed in many competitions and made the TMEA All-State Choir in her junior and senior years. After graduation, she married the love of her life, and they moved to East Texas to work in ministry with a small congregation in Gallatin, TX.
She went on to pursue vocal music in college at Sam Houston State University and finished her teaching degree at Stephen F. Austin University in 2009. Elizabeth was a public-school teacher for 10 years before moving to the Rio Grande Valley and now enjoys directing & teaching music for In Hymn Choir, volunteering, serving in the church & raising her children. Elizabeth currently sings & performs with a Christian singing group called “Arrowsong” and has auditioned & recorded albums with Acappella’s Praise & Harmony singers. In addition to directing In Hymn Choir, she offers voice lessons. Some of her favorite ways to spend her time are singing, traveling all over the country doing evangelistic work with her family, cooking, crafting and home design. She looks forward to working closely with her students to bring out their fullest vocal potential and encourage them to bless their community through song.
Mrs. Lacey Lowry
BUSINESS DIRECTOR
Lacey Lowry is a Christian, a wife, a mother, and an educator at heart. Lacey has always loved teaching, but now realizes that her greatest joy is in learning… learning more about God, His relationship with us, and His creation. She finds delight in helping others learn the joy of the Lord. Lacey and her husband work together in ministry for the Church of Christ.
Music has always been a part of Lacey’s life. She participated in choir throughout her entire school career, and Lacey believes that music is an essential part of worship. Lacey enjoys integrating music and song into learning because music is a powerful tool that positively affects the learner’s mood, concentration, and memory.
